With advances in science and technology, emerging industry applications require more complex and highly sensitive measurement techniques.  NMC conducts R&D to develop new measurement standards and leading edge capabilities and infrastructure.

NMC is currently working on R&D projects to develop new measurement capabilities for emerging technologies, such as the solar cells, light emitting diodes and solid-state lighting, submillimeter-wave technology, and measurement of bunkering fuel. NMC also provides measurement solutions addressing global issues such as environmental monitoring and new and renewable energy.
